We miss you, Pepsi Blue.

Pepsi-Cola, commonly called Pepsi, is a soft drink produced and manufactured by Pepsi-Co. It is sold worldwide in store, restaurants and vending machines. The drink was first made in the 1890's, by pharmacists Calbe Bradham. The brand was trademarked on June 16, 1903. There have been many Pepsi variants produced over the year, including Diet, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Samba, Pepsi Blue, Pepsi Gold, Pepsi Jazz and Pepsi Next (available in Japan).

Like any beverages in the market, Pepsi Blue has also something that can catch any customer's attention and indulgence to sweet drinks. We, Filipinos need something to quench our thirst. Pepsi Blue was launched in mid-2002 and discontinued in Canada and the United States in 2004, although it remains available in some other countries. Its berry flavor was a result of taste-testing over 100 flavors over a 9-month period. Designed to compete with Coca-Cola's Vanilla Coke, it is sometimes compared to new Coke, a second failure along with the much-maligned Crystal Pepsi.

The flavor of Pespi Blue was described by Pepsi only as "berry" and described by drinkers as like blueberries or raspberries or similar to cotton-candy with a berry-like aftertaste and much more sugary and syrupy than regular cola. It was tinted using Blue 1, a highly controversial coloring agent banned in numerous countries at the time. The move to make a brightly-colored version of the flagship Pepsi brand was spurred by 2001's introduction of Mountain Dew Code Red, which had bumped PepsiCo's Mountain Dew division sales up 6%.

Pepsi Blue became one of the most interesting and luscious beverage of all-time. With its color and innate sweetness, no one can resist falling in love with it. No one can refuse the temptation of getting his own cold-Pepsi Blue. From little kids up to young at heart, no one will ever turn their back with Pepsi Blue. It is sad that this product will no longer be seen in our favorites supermarkets, but at least, it it is true that it contains bad substance, it is good that we are safe.
